Preferred formats
PDF is preferred for most print-ready work. AI/EPS are useful for vector artwork. PSD/JPG/PNG may be suitable where raster output is expected. ZIP/RAR can group multiple clearly named files.
Send files that can move into production cleanly.
Good artwork preparation reduces proof revisions, colour surprises and delays. The exact production requirement can vary by product, so use these as practical defaults.
Colour
Prepare print artwork in CMYK where practical. Spot colours, white ink, cut paths or special finishing layers should be clearly named and discussed before production.
Resolution
Use sufficient effective resolution at final output size. Large-format work may use lower effective PPI than small-format print because viewing distance is greater.
Bleed & safe area
Add bleed where trimming is required and keep important text/logos away from trim, welding, eyelet or finishing areas.
Fonts & links
Outline fonts when supplying editable vector artwork, or package fonts/linked assets where agreed. Missing links are a common preflight problem.
File naming
Name files by job, size and version—for example brand-wall_20x8ft_v03.pdf. Avoid ambiguous names such as final-final2.pdf.
What happens after upload?
Artwork can be flagged for correction. Revised files are stored as new versions, then a numbered digital proof can be issued for customer approval before production.
